TIFF-Tastic Opportunity

A week ago there was a little something called the Toronto International Film Festival going on in this here city.

While some people were lining up to get tickets, enjoying the 4 a.m. extended liquor license at their favourite night spot or roaming the streets of Yorkville in search of their favourite celebrities, I was on my trusty MacBook. But don’t worry I was still taking part in all the TIFF 2010 hype.

You see I was asked to be a remote TIFF blogger during the 11-day festival for Yahoo! Entertainment News. My duty was to sort through the wide range of festival coverage online, on TV and on Twitter, and post on some noteworthy happenings.

My coverage included a piece about the lack of glamour on the TIFF red carpet, Roger Ebert’s love for Toronto, and posts about Malin Akerman and Kelly Preston.

Overall it was a great experience as a freelancer and a movie lover, and I hope to have more opportunities to cover events like this in the future.
