Andrea Victory is living one of my dreams. She’s the owner of a little piece of beauty paradise in the Mirvish Village known as Pretty Beauty & Books. A place where two of my loves comes together – books and beauty products. And what a lovely marriage it is.
I popped in for a visit last week and left with a perma smile and some samples of One Love Organics Skincare products and Tallulah Jane natural fragrances that have changed my opinion about eco-friendly scents. Read all about it here on Hip & Urban Girls.

Last Thursday I had my first Topshop Canada experience. The Bay on Queen Street hosted a Summer Takeover for one last hurrah before it’s back to school and back to knits, boots and leather (sigh). We drank fruity summer drinks, shopped the preview collection of florals and bright colours and had a bit too much fun in the photo booth. Read more about it onHipUrbanGirls.
FYI: Topshop opens at The Bay in Yorkdale October 5th.
You’ve probably seen me mention the Hip & Urban Girl’s Guide a million times on this blog for their awesome Toronto events. Well it’s about to get a whole lot more frequent, as I’ve just signed on as their newest blog contributor.
Be sure to check back here, and of course on the blog, for what you should be eating, shopping and seeing on your next vacation, as well as Toronto happenings and some of my beauty obsessions. Recent blog posts include:
June is the official kick-off month of summer and also an incredibly busy month party-wise for Toronto. From Luminato to Powerball and countless other food and music festivals, there is no shortage of celebrations for you to get out there an explore the city.
Probably the biggest party of the month is the Much Music Video Awards which will took place this past Sunday on Queen Street. To celebrate the start of the MMVA weekend H&M held a pre-party bash at their Queen Street West location Thursday night.
Guests got to enjoy plenty of beer, coolers and hors d’ouevers (who knew fried Mac & Cheese balls would be so addicting) while shopping the latest summer collection at 20% off (perfect to pick something up for one of the many MMVA-related parties going on all weekend).
The best part of the night was a special mini-concert one of my favourite Toronto bands, Dragonette.
Martina, Joel and Dan put on a great show for the shoppers, playing some of our favourites like Fire in Your News Shoes and Hello. We were definitely pumped up for some shopping and more music realted MMVA fun.
